Thomas Kershaw Builders commenced trading in 1939 as a bespoke joinery manufacturer and general building company for the domestic market. Over the years, the scope of work expanded to include the commercial and public sector and we became incorporated as a Limited company in 1984. Although many changes have happened during this period to both company and industry itself, one thing that has always remained constant is the care and attention to detail that you would expect from a family run business.
We undertake all types of building works ranging from small domestic projects, through to larger new build residential and commercial schemes. The majority of our workload is however found in the upgrading and refurbishment sectors.
Our main clients include Local Authorities, the National Health Service and the Education Sector where we are approved contractors for both Manchester Diocese and Salford Roman Catholic Diocese. We also regularly undertake work for a number of Property Management Companies, Private Architectural and Surveying Practices, Local Schools and Social Housing Groups.
The Company has a number of trade associations and is registered with the Construction Industry Training Board CITB, Construction line, CHAS, the Federation of Master Builders and the Northwest Consortium of NHS Trusts. We are also an active member of the South East Lancashire Construction Association and have achieved Investors in People Standard.
